Bev became a part of the Headwaters family in June 1994 as a part-time Registered Practical Nurse at the Shelburne District Hospital.
Early in her career Bev became very fond of a patient who eventually passed away in her care. This experience left a lasting impression on her and shaped her career as a nurse. To this day, 21 years later, she can tell you the patient’s name, diagnosis, children’s names and the patient’s room number. Bev continues to genuinely connect with each of her patients.
Bev’s favorite memory at Headwaters was the day she was offered a full-time position; it took her five years to achieve this lofty goal.
Working in Chronic Care, Inpatient Surgery, Post-Partum and Medicine, Bev has experienced many facets of our hospital. Today, she works on D-Wing with a team she is incredibly grateful for. One of her teammates she attended nursing school with 26 years ago!
“I love the team I work with. They are the absolute best. They always have your back. Always have a hand to lend. We are not a team – we are a family. We cry together, laugh together and support each other,” said Bev.
Bev also has a family history with our hospital - both her father and brother suffered from a heart attack and received care here. She credits the entire team involved in their care for them still being alive today; many of whom still ask her how they are doing.
Thank you, Bev, for being part of the Headwaters family!
