Volunteer Be part of transforming health care in Dufferin County. Part of what makes HHCC great is the community connectedness that you – our patients, families and caregivers - feel the moment you walk in the door. Over 300 volunteers proudly call our hospital home and truly go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Volunteers get involved in a variety of ways including: with our Auxiliary at the hospital or at the Seconds Count Thrift Shop, in our Friendship Gardens and as part of Spiritual Care Program. The governing body of our hospital is also comprised of volunteers. Our Board of Directors provide oversight in making strategic decisions, ensuring we provide quality care, our financial well-being and staying educated in health care best practices. We also have several committees which consist of directors and community members. Volunteers also act as Patient Family Advisors who help us understand what matters most to you. The best way we can provide even better care is to focus on how you – our patients, families and caregivers – can identify the most important things that can be done to improve your care experience. TeleCheck is also supported by volunteers. TeleCheck is a free, confidential check-in service to support adults 55+ living independently in their homes. Calls are delivered each day, 8:30 a.m. – Noon and 3:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., seven days a week, by a team of dedicated volunteers and staff. We hope you will join us in transforming health care in Dufferin County by getting involved with one of our volunteer teams!
