Policies and Guidelines

We are committed to be being open, transparent and accountable in all our policies, practices and guidelines. Our dedicated staff and volunteers are here to help you navigate your time with us in the most comfortable and professional way possible.  

Wireless internet (WiFi)
WiFi is available free of charge throughout the hospital. When choosing a network, select HW_GUEST. A password is not required.

Please remember - no network communication should be considered private or protected. All communication over the HHCC network is subject to monitoring. HHCC reserves the right to access as needed.

Your access to WiFi is completely at the discretion of HHCC, and your access may be blocked, suspended, or terminated at any time for any reason.

WiFi may not be uninterrupted and service will be attended to the best of our ability.

Scent-free
Our hospital is scent-free. With increased sensitivities to scents we kindly ask that you do not wear perfume and other scented personal care products. While flowers are permitted we ask that you refrain from bringing your loved ones highly fragrant flowers such as lavender or roses. They can also enjoy a view of our lovely Friendship Gardens while at the hospital. Latex (rubber) balloons are also not permitted as they can cause severe allergic reactions. Foil or Mylar balloons are welcome. 

Smoke-free
Our hospital is smoke-free. We are committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for you and your loved one, our staff and volunteers. As part of our commitment smoking is prohibited on hospital grounds – including cannabis and vapes. Free smoking cessation programs are available at the Smokers Helpline.
 
Fundraising and donations
The Headwaters Health Care Foundation (HHCF) is the charitable organization responsible for fundraising and administering all donations to HHCC. The HHCF and its volunteer Board of Directors is accountable to donors, to the Canada Revenue Agency, as well as to a series of 3rd party credentialing programs.
