A primary health care provider is the person you make an appointment with when you have a new, non-emergency health care concern.
Find a family doctor or nurse practitioner
Register with the
Health Care Connect program. After you have registered with the program, a nurse – called a Care Connector – will be assigned to help you find a health care provider in your area.
Use the
Find a Doctor search offered by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. You can choose ‘Advanced Search’ to find a doctor near you or ‘Additional Search Options’ to narrow your search. Once you have found a doctor you can contact them directly to see if they are accepting new patients.
Please ensure you have a valid OHIP card and are not registered with another health care provider. You can do this by
contacting Service Ontario.
