Fees and Charges

If you live in Ontario and have a valid health card, most of your stay will be covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP).

Charges not covered by OHIP
  • Preferred accommodation
  • Ambulance
  • Medical devices (such as casts, crutches or splints)
  • Telephone and entertainment 
  • Complex Continuing Care Alternate Level of Care patients may be required to pay a co-payment fee

Please check your private insurance plan to see what they will cover before coming to the hospital as we are unable to verify that for you.

Canadian residents insured in other provinces are covered in Ontario. We will process interprovincial claims on your behalf.

Canadian residents without a provincial health card and non-residents of Canada will be charged in advance or at the time of your visit.

How to pay your bill
Bills can be paid at Patient Accounts, located in the Joan and Paul Waechter Welcome Centre (main lobby of the hospital). Patient Accounts is open Monday – Friday from 8:30AM – 3:30PM (excluding Statutory Holidays). When the office is closed, accounts can be paid at Switchboard.

Online: you will need your client account number (located on your billing statement), the amount you owe and your credit card (we accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express)
