A community unlike any other

Over the course of the pandemic, we were deeply touched by the generosity of our community.
Over the course of the pandemic, we were deeply touched by the generosity of our community.

Watching or hearing about local businesses showing up at our hospital to deliver food and supplies to our team as they struggled to keep their doors open with provincial restrictions in place demonstrated just the kind of place we work in (and many of us live in).

One of these businesses was Grabb-a-Pizza, located next to the hospital on Rolling Hills Drive. During the pandemic Grabb-a-Pizza provided free large pizzas to our staff.

“It helped so much being able to call ahead and pick up a pizza on the way home. The entire Obstetrics team appreciated being able to pick up pizza on a very busy shift (handled safely and enjoyed while distanced of course). We felt appreciated and it really did make a difference,” said Faye Corbett, Registered Nurse.

Small businesses were hit hard by this pandemic and our community was no exception.

“We were worried about our businesses, but we were also worried about our frontline workers. We knew we needed to do our part to say thanks for what they were risking and doing for us all,” said Jyoti, owner of Grabb-a-Pizza.

Jyoti, is grateful to each member of our team that gave them praise on their Facebook page and which have since helped keep their business doors open by becoming devoted patrons.

Thank you, Grabb-a-Pizza and all the local businesses that supported our hospital over the course of this pandemic.
