Headwaters Health Care Centre is recognized as a high performing hospital and enjoys a superior reputation for the care provided to its patients. To maintain and build upon these excellent results, Headwaters Health Care Centre needs a strong, dedicated volunteer Board of Directors.
As a Director, you will be asked to attend board meetings and serve on one (or more) board committee (Audit, Finance, Governance, or Quality). A minimum of 8-10 hours per month commitment (for reading, preparation and meeting attendance) will meet your obligations to the Board. New members will be required to attend orientation sessions at the hospital, and at education events sponsored by the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) which focuses on health care governance for new directors. Attendance at board retreats held each year is required. It is also an expectation that you will attend at least one education course each year as offered by the OHA. Ongoing training and development assistance is available to all board members.
