News release: Headwaters Health Care Centre Seeks Passionate Volunteers for Patient and Family Advisory Program

Orangeville, ON (November 21, 2023) – Headwaters Health Care Centre is on a mission to enhance patient-centric care and promote patient-informed decision-making through its Patient and Family Advisory Program. To achieve this goal, the hospital is actively recruiting dedicated individuals who have had firsthand experiences with Headwaters as a patient, family member, or caregiver within the last three years.

The Patient and Family Advisory Program at Headwaters aims to create a collaborative and inclusive environment where the voices of patients and their families play a pivotal role in shaping healthcare services provided. Volunteers in this program will have the unique opportunity to contribute their insights, share perspectives, and actively participate in discussions that influence Headwaters’ policies and practices.

"We recognize the immense value that lived experiences bring to the improvement of healthcare services. By involving patients and their families directly in our decision-making processes, we ensure that our services are not only clinically effective but also deeply compassionate and considerate of individual needs," says Juliann McArthur, Manager, Patient Experience

To be eligible for these volunteer roles, candidates must have had personal experience with Headwaters Health Care Centre as a patient, family member, or caregiver within the last three years. Successful applicants will undergo training to ensure they are well-equipped for their roles within the program.
