Media Advisory: Scheduled mock emergency scenario at Headwaters Health Care Centre

UPDATE: The emergency drill has been completed. 
Thank you Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Dufferin County, and stakeholders for your crucial partnership as we successfully completed the mock scenario to test and enhance our emergency preparedness response.  


October 19, 2024, (Orangeville, ON) – Headwaters Health Care Centre, emergency and crisis response community partners Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Dufferin County, and stakeholders will schedule a mock scenario at Headwaters Health Care Centre on Sunday October 20, 2024, at approximately 8:30 a.m.

There will be increased police presence around the hospital during the mock scenario. There is no threat to public safety.
 
Headwaters remains open during the mock exercise. There will be no impact to patients during the mock exercise. All patient services and facilities are fully operational and regular visiting hours are in effect.
 
Mock emergency code scenarios are educational and rehearsed on a regular basis by hospitals, to ensure that staff and stakeholders are prepared for an emergency and can learn from mock exercise debriefs.
 
Patients and visitors in the hospital are notified of the exercise taking place. When the exercise is complete, a notification will be posted on Headwaters’ social media.
