My primary responsibility involves ensuring patients feel confident and comfortable during operations, drawing on my passion for the physiological, pharmacological, and procedural aspects of my work.

As the Chief Medical Informatics Officer (CMIO), I enjoy contributing administratively to ensure Information Technology is used to improve patient care and safety.

Outside of work, I spend quality time with family and friends, enjoy outdoor activities, and playing sports with my two sons.

I’m a specialized surgeon focusing on urinary tract disorders, including kidneys, ureters, bladder, prostate, and urethra.

I joined Headwaters for its emphasis on personalized patient care and community responsibility. Our surgical team has a supportive work atmosphere and a tight-knit community.

Outside work, I enjoy squash, tennis, watching TV shows, and spending quality time with friends and family.

"When I first moved to Orangeville, I got invovled in senior visitations through my local church. I really enjoyed that. However during the COVID-19 pandemic, a lot of my seniors passed away or moved on. When I saw that Headwaters was looking for Spiritual Care volunteers in a flyer at my church, I decided to sign up. I graduated from the Spiritual Care training program in 2022, and I'm so glad I did it. It seemed like a natural flow for me from senior visitation to hospital visitation."

Dr. May Elhajj, Obstetrician / Gynecologist

I view my role as a women's health specialist due to my focus on women's health throughout their lives. I sought out Headwaters as a place to establish roots amidst the changing dynamics of work and family life during the pandemic.

I highly value my colleagues, including physicians and nurses, but especially my patients as we work as a team guiding them towards wellness. My work and family bring me immense joy and meaning.
