Headwaters’ First Baby of 2025 is a Boy!

Orangeville, ON. (January 2, 2025) – The new year started off in “the best way possible” according to Orangeville residents Alyssia Fullington and Giovanni Altrui as they welcomed baby Alessio to the world at 5:37 a.m. on January 1, 2025. Alessio Gianni Altrui, born at 7 lbs. 11 oz, was the first Headwaters Health Care Centre baby of the year.

Alessio is already part of the Headwaters family, as his grandmother has worked in the emergency department for nine years and, according to Alyssia and Giovanni, “contributed to making this birth a memorable moment.” The parents say they are very happy they chose the hospital for the birth of their son and offered up a special thank you to Dr. Umeh for, “making us feel confident and at ease each step of the way.”

• There were 847 deliveries at Headwaters in 2024
• Headwaters has four obstetricians with clinics adjacent to the hospital at 140 Rolling Hills Drive.
• Midwives registered with Midwives of Headwater Hills have hospital privileges at Headwaters and work alongside Headwaters’ Obstetrical Team of physicians and nurses to offer midwife-attended hospital births.
• Each piece of hospital equipment used by our doctors and nurses is funded by community donations through Headwaters Health Care Foundation. Thanks to the generosity of our local community, this includes new equipment for Headwaters Obstetrical program.
