The new year started off in “the best way possible” according to Orangeville residents Alyssia Fullington and Giovanni Altrui as they welcomed baby Alessio to the world at 5:37 a.m. on January 1, 2025. Alessio Gianni Altrui, born at 7 lbs. 11 oz, was the first Headwaters Health Care Centre baby of the year. 

As we close out an exceptionally busy – and exciting – year for Headwaters Health Care Centre, I reflect on the many milestones and achievements that have helped us better serve our community. This year, we launched multiple programs, renovations, and plans, demonstrating our commitment to growing and changing with the community and achieving our purpose of providing excellent care close to home for the residents of Dufferin-Caledon. 

The Ontario government is investing in Headwaters Health Care Centre’s emergency and diagnostic imaging departments by renovating and expanding them. These departments will be more accessible and connect more people to the care they need, where and when they need it. 

To help keep everyone safe at Headwaters Health Care Centre during a complex respiratory season of RSV, COVID-19, flu and seasonal viruses, masking is now required in patient-facing areas. Throughout the rest of the hospital, Headwaters remains a mask-friendly environment where masks are encouraged but optional.
