Celebrating Physicians on National Physicians' Day

Physicians’ Day or Doctors’ Day is celebrated around the world at different times of the year. In Canada, May 1st was chosen as the date to recognize Physicians’ Day in honour of the birth date of Dr. Emily Stowe, the first woman to practice medicine in Canada.

We are honored to take a moment to express our gratitude and appreciation for the dedication and commitment the physicians working at Headwaters have shown to our hospital, to our community and the patients we serve.

On this Physicians’ Day, we extend our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you for your unwavering devotion to providing high-quality patient care whether you are part of our interdisciplinary team at the hospital or providing critical primary care in the community.

These past few years have been challenging. The COVID-19 pandemic has tested our healthcare system and pushed us to the limits. But through it all, you have continued to show up, putting the needs of our patients first, supporting our whole team and demonstrating remarkable resilience and professionalism.

Looking to the future, we are proud to work together to continue to grow and foster our physician community, offering rewarding careers, as part of a team of health care professionals who are committed to the provision of excellent patient care.

Thank you for your commitment, dedication, and hard work. Your contributions make a difference every day, and we are grateful for your service and partnership.
