TeleCheck

Back to Areas of Care
Supporting adults ages 55 and older in Dufferin-Caledon, Telecheck is a confidential, no-cost service to help older adults live independently at home through scheduled check-in telephone calls.

With daily operations led by dedicated volunteers and staff, the program provides clients customized connection according to their needs, such as health routine reminders, social connections, navigating the health and community system, and offers both preventative health and emergency responses, when needed.

In addition, TeleCheck clients can benefit from caring social interaction that supports health, and receive companionship and friendship through the program.
Members can design their own personal plan upon which their "call" will be based. The call-out program works collaboratively with many community service providers such as Home and Community Care, Alzheimer Society, Headwaters Health Care Centre, Canadian Mental Health Association, Seniors Centre and other like-minded agencies that support adults over the ages of 55.

People interested in receiving the daily call-out service can register to become a Member of the service. No assessment is required; self-referral is accepted by individuals and families.
