Changing a mother's worry to relief

21-month-old Vivianne was rushed to our Emergency Department with a painful earache.
On November 17, Stephanie rushed to the Emergency Department at Headwaters Health Care Centre with her 21-month old daughter. It was 2 a.m. and the mother was worried about her daughter Vivianne, who had a painful earache.

“Michele, the triage nurse got us in as quickly as she could, and the registration personnel was also very sweet,” recalls Stephanie. “When we got into our treatment room, the nurse Rebecca were very gentle with Viv during her nasal swab and other examinations. They offered her popsicles and warm blankets to comfort her while also giving me words of encouragement and reassurance.”

After being treated by Dr. Alkurdi, the entire visit to the hospital did not take longer than expected, and the family was back at home by daybreak.

“Vivianne is feeling much better after taking her prescription for her ear infection,” reports Stephanie. “I cannot express enough how thankful we are for the Emergency Department team that night.”
